The American Council of the Blind strives to increase the independence, security, equality of opportunity, and quality of life for all blind and visually impaired people. They offer educational scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $7,500 for those attending a technical college or as an entering freshman, undergraduate or a graduate student. The Council also promotes and advocates for the use of high-quality Audio Description in television, movies, performing arts, museums, educational materials and other venues where the presentation of visual media is critical to the understanding and appreciation of the content. They offer a radio program, broadcasting information from a blindness perspective and music from an array of genres.

The American Council of the Blind strives to increase the independence, security, equality of opportunity, and quality of life for all blind and visually impaired people. They offer educational scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $7,500 for those attending a technical college or as an entering freshman, undergraduate or a graduate student. The Council also promotes and advocates for the use of high-quality Audio Description in television, movies, performing arts, museums, educational materials and other venues where the presentation of visual media is critical to the understanding and appreciation of the content. Call SAINT at 970-223-8604 and select option 1 for Fort Collins, or option 2 for Loveland. The Scheduler will verify eligibility and answer questions. When the first ride is scheduled, the scheduler will complete the over-the-phone registration.Eligibility for SAINT

How it Works
SAINT provides door-to-door transportation to eligible people. Rides are given by volunteers who use their own cars to help their neighbors. SAINT drivers are on the road Monday – Friday from 8:15 am until 4:00 pm. SAINT Schedulers are available to take your calls Monday – Friday from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. SAINT provides transportation in Fort Collins and Loveland, Colorado. We are not able to provide transportation between the cities or to outlying areas.Scheduling

Silver Key’s transportation service provides door-through-door ADA accessible transportation for medical appointments, shopping, group meals, social activities, recreation trips, and more.Transportation accommodates wheelchairs, walkers, those needing a lift device, oxygen, and other special needs. Veterans support veterans by providing rides to VA medical facilities.

FreeVia is a nonprofit organization offering accessible transportation (Via Paratransit) and mobility options information and referral services. Via also provides a wide range of community and group educational resources related to transportation for older adults, people with disabilities, and others living with mobility limitations.
Information and referral services, in English or Spanish, are available by phone Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Call a mobility specialist at 303-444-3043 to help by:
- Conducting a short assessment of individual mobility and travel needs
- Preparing individual travel plans
- Helping you register as a Via Paratransit rider and schedule a ride
- Providing guidance for aging individuals and their families faced with the life-altering decision of giving up the car keys
- Following up to ensure plans are enhancing mobility and independence
Scheduling a Ride:
- Request rides by phone or online.
- The online Self-Service Portal is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Trips should be reserved 1-7 days before the ride is needed.
- Same-day rides may be available.
- You will know immediately whether your ride request can be fulfilled.
Regular Fare Amount:
- In-town Fare: $6 each way (a round-trip is $12)
- Town-to-town Fare: $12 each way (a round-trip is $24)

Discounted FaresVolunteers of America's Gilpin/Clear Creek Transportation Program provides transportation and meal services for residents of Gilpin and Clear Creek Counties who are 60 years of age and older.
SERVICES INCLUDE
- Transportation to and from medical and dental offices and clinics, including individual appointments
- Grocery shopping trips to and from local food stores
- Transportation to and from the post office, nursing homes, polling places, funeral services, volunteering locations, etc.
- Trips to and from Congregate Dining Centers
- Transportation to and from medical and dental appointments that exceed ten miles one-way and cross a county boundary
GILPIN COUNTY SERVICES
Congregate Nutrition Services for the elderly Volunteers of America also provides meals at the Gilpin County Community Center on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
