Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Adam studied Biomedical Engineering and Physiology at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. He then returned home to complete his medical training at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After obtaining his medical degree, he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, where he was appointed Co-Chief Resident and was awarded the James S. Shipman award for best resident research project. Dr. Adam was fortunate to stay in Philadelphia to complete his 2-year vitreoretinal surgical training at Wills Eye Hospital, widely considered to be one of the top retina training programs in the world. As a fellow, he was awarded the prestigious Heed Fellowship in for his research endeavours and the William Tasman, MD Outstanding Fellow Award in recognition of his dedication to resident teaching.

Above all else, Dr. Adam entered the the medical profession to make a direct, positive impact on the lives of individuals. He strives to treat every patient as he would treat his own family. His primary clinical interests include primary and complex retinal detachment repair, macular hole and macular pucker surgery, intraocular lens exchange, scleral fixation of intraocular lenses, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusion. His research interests include tele-ophthalmology, novel retinal imaging techniques, heads up 3-dimensional vitreoretinal surgery, and ocular infectious disease.

Outside of work Dr. Adam, his wife, and two children enjoy hiking, biking, bouldering, frisbee golf, and exploring all that Denver has to offer.
