Our Clinical Referral Team
We invest in our clinical support team to provide you peace of mind that once you submit a referral you can leave the rest to us. Our team processes all referrals within two business days, and will call your patient directly to schedule based on your provided preferences and diagnostic urgency.
Our robust referral department is composed of highly trained, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) triage coordinators, each with prior experience as a Colorado Retina technician and/or clinical lead. They work extensively with our physicians and patients, using hands on experience to manage difficult or emotional patient situations and act as liaison between your providers and ours throughout the referral process and beyond. The Referrals team is separate from our call center. They have standardized procedures for the distribution and use of health information throughout our organization, coordinating with all other departments, including our uveitis and oncology teams. Our Coordinators are the main point of contact for new patients and our referring providers for any questions, triage needs, or rising concerns.
